Jonathan K. Nelson didn’t set out to build the most recognized full-service law firm in Southern Nevada. He set out to build the best one.
After a decade in corporate banking — negotiating multi-million dollar transactions and managing complex client relationships — Jonathan earned his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2008 and was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 2012. He came to Clark County and Southern Nevada with a banker’s discipline, a litigator’s instincts, and a clear vision: the region deserved a law firm that could handle everything a family might face — injury, divorce, estate planning, probate, criminal defense, bankruptcy — under one roof, with one trusted team, without ever starting over.
That firm is JK Nelson Law.
Today JK Nelson Law operates four fully staffed locations across Las Vegas and Pahrump, with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and case managers — including Spanish-speaking staff — serving families and individuals throughout Clark County, Nye County, and Southern Nevada. Jonathan leads that team — setting the standard for how clients are treated, how cases are handled, and what it means to fight for the people of this region.
Beyond the courtroom, Jonathan is a recognized leader across the communities JK Nelson Law serves. In Pahrump, he currently serves as a Board Member of the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce, having previously served as its Official Legal Counsel — a reflection of the deep ties he and the firm have built across Nye County over more than a decade. He is also actively involved with local senior services in Pahrump, where JK Nelson Law has been a consistent presence since opening its doors.

Additionally, he was selected to serve as the Official Legal Counsel of the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce and was named Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers as well Legal Elite in 2017. In 2018, Jonathan was named myVegas’ Top 100 Lawyers.
Supervising Attorney
Attorney David Thoman has been licensed in Nevada since 2011. While well-versed in many areas of law, he has over a dozen years of experience in Family Law and has deep empathy for those needing legal representation. As a Nevada-native, he is a proud graduate of UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. Attorney Thoman is an avid chess player and enjoys spending time with his wife and little ones.
Attorney Daniel Allen has a strong passion for law where he started his career as a Paralegal prior to attending law school. He is also a proud Army Veteran, where he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Attorney Allen has been a long-time resident of Nevada since 1989 and is originally from Orange County, California. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching soccer, and spending time with his family.
Attorney Jillian Hardwick served as President for the International Law Society while she was earning her JD. She loves to travel and seized an opportunity to enjoy a summer studying abroad at Universitat de Barcelona, Spain in 2015. Prior to getting her license, she cultivated her legal experiences from the ground up as a law clerk and legal secretary.
